What to understand about the project
Include samples, tooling, transport, insurance, inspection, storage, scrap, inventory capital and returns. Faster delivery or better conformity can justify a different initial price.
How to take action
Build launch, normal production and quality incident scenarios. Assign responsibilities and measure lead times in each. Update assumptions when volumes or conditions change.
Point to watch
VAT, transport evidence and invoicing need accounting validation at the transaction date. The 2020 European notes are introductory and may be outdated in parts.
